Multiple Clean Surfaces: Folding allows the same wipe to be used up to eight times by providing four fresh contact surfaces per fold. However, on heavily soiled or wet surfaces, it's best to avoid folding to prevent transferring contaminants within the wipe.
Protection Against Surface Damage: The edges of a folded wipe help cushion finger pressure, which minimizes the risk of scratching delicate surfaces.
Improved Handling: A folded wipe is easier to grip, allowing for smooth, linear wiping motions, which enhances control.
For cleanroom use, folding is recommended until the wipe shows visible contamination, though cleanroom contaminants are usually invisible to the naked eye. Operators should rely on guidelines to judge when to fold or dispose of the wipe.
